VP of Strategy & Investments
Dartmouth Partners is a global private equity platform investing in high-growth, middle-market companies. The VP of Strategy & Investments will serve as a senior partner to the Chief Strategy Officer, playing a critical role in shaping and executing the firm’s investment and portfolio strategy.
Responsibilities
Act as a senior strategic and investment partner to the Chief Strategy Officer across firm-wide initiatives
Lead rigorous, investor-grade analyses related to portfolio performance, value creation, and capital allocation
Evaluate and assess how macro and thematic trends (e.g., AI, software disruption, operational leverage) impact portfolio companies and investment strategy
Analyze fund and portfolio returns, including attribution across EBITDA growth, margin expansion, and multiple expansion
Partner with investment teams on diligence, deal evaluation, pipeline analysis, and investment thesis refinement
Develop frameworks and insights to inform portfolio strategy, value creation planning, and investment prioritization
Prepare investment memos, board materials, and strategic presentations for senior leadership and external stakeholders
Coordinate cross-functional efforts across finance, legal, investor relations, and portfolio support to ensure execution alignment
Drive high-priority strategic projects requiring both analytical depth and execution rigor
Contribute to the evolution of internal processes, analytical standards, and best practices as the platform scales
Qualification
Required
Direct investing experience (Private Equity, Growth Equity, Asset Management, or Investment Banking with clear investor track record)
Top-tier management consulting experience (McKinsey, Bain, or BCG required)
AI/SaaS/Technology Strategy Consulting Experience
6–8+ years of experience across investing and top-tier strategy roles
Prior experience as an investor or in an investment-adjacent role with hands-on exposure to deal analysis, portfolio performance, and return drivers
Strong foundation in financial analysis, value creation frameworks, and investment economics
Demonstrated ability to go beyond market mapping into technically rigorous, decision-oriented analysis
Comfort operating at a senior level with limited oversight in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
Ability to manage complex, multi-threaded initiatives while maintaining analytical depth
Strong executive communication skills, with experience interfacing with senior leadership and investment professionals
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
Preferred
MBA or advanced degree preferred
