The OB Technician will perform various patient care and clerical duties to support the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum process under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
The OB Technician performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP)
Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse
Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult)
Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care
Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and “Declaration of Paternity” forms
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current
Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)
