Research Technicians
University of Utah Health Research is seeking Research Technicians to assist scientific research teams. The role involves performing various support tasks, operating lab instruments, preparing samples, and maintaining research logs.
Higher Education
Responsibilities
Perform various support tasks in assisting scientific research team with the execution of tests and experiments
Set up, operate, clean, and maintain lab instruments and equipment
Depending on area of research, may prepare media, samples, solutions, specimens, and/or reagents
Perform testing and monitoring
Gather and record research data
Keep detailed logs of experiments
Maintain and stock supplies
Entry-level support role
Perform routine tasks as directed and under close supervision
Qualification
Required
Must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work
Perform various support tasks in assisting scientific research team with the execution of tests and experiments
Set up, operate, clean, and maintain lab instruments and equipment
Depending on area of research, may prepare media, samples, solutions, specimens, and/or reagents
Perform testing and monitoring
Gather and record research data
Keep detailed logs of experiments
Maintain and stock supplies
Requires little to no related experience
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience
Preferred
Experience working in settings with students from all backgrounds
Strong commitment to improving access to higher education for historically underrepresented students
