Responsibilities
Troubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues
Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps
Establishes security, connectivity and access parameters
Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure
Tests and tunes security devices and systems
Programs routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice)
Manages network services from planning phase through implementation
In addition to delivering at the client site, you will occasionally be tasked in productizing Excelacom’s work, contributing to our Center of Excellence and intermittently working on Excelacom proposals to the client
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science or related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong math, written and verbal communication skills with an analytical approach
Ability to interact cross-functionally with various levels management and peers
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
2+ years of experience in Network Engineering
Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required
Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards
Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including: Casa C100G, Arris E6000, Cisco cBR8, RPHY, Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, Vecima RPDs
Working knowledge of EPON platforms including: ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
Working knowledge of switch platforms including: Cisco NCS/ASR, Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
Working knowledge of routing protocols including: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, v4/v6 Multicast
Ability to write technical documentation
Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans
Preferred
Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable is highly preferred
Experience in a professional office environment
Relevant internship experience
Basic understanding of SQL
CPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirable
