Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time, temporary Research Associate to join the Department of Systems Biology, Korem Lab. This role focuses on developing methodology for inference of mutations in microbiome data and involves supporting day-to-day lab operations and maintaining high standards of organization and quality in research.

Responsibilities

Conduct computational and statistical research focused on the inference of mutational signatures in microbiome sequencing data, with an emphasis on identifying environmental exposures associated with prematurity
Apply Bayesian inference methods and probabilistic modeling techniques to analyze large-scale, high-dimensional biological datasets
Develop, document, and maintain reproducible, well-tested code and workflows suitable for dissemination to the broader academic and scientific community
Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications by drafting methods, results, and supporting materials as needed
Collaborate closely with principal investigator, postdocs, and other lab members to integrate computational methods with experimental and clinical data
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the lab's research mission and operational needs
