Responsibilities

Verifying servers performed expected tasks during the maintenance window
Checking enterprise systems to proactively catch issues before they propagate
Investigating operational or security issues
Creating scripts and automation to complete work that is 'outside the box' of existing enterprise systems
Providing insight and guidance for the team to focus on problem areas

Required

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in: Hardware: Knowledge of specifications, uses, and types of computer or computer-related equipment
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in: Infrastructure Design: Knowledge of the architecture and typology of software, hardware, and networks, including LANS, WANS, and telecommunications systems, their components and associated protocols and standards, and how they operate and integrate with one another and with associated controlling software
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in: Operating Systems: Knowledge of computer network, desktop, and mainframe operating systems and their applications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in: Systems Integration: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in: Systems Testing and Evaluation: Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing systems testing and evaluation procedures and technical characteristics of IT systems, including identifying critical operational issues
Training in computer science, information technology, or system administration – or a similar field or professional experience – that provided knowledge of systems, networking software, hardware, protocols, and scripting/automation tools
Training in computer science, information technology, system administration, or a similar field and professional experience in database, network, or system administration
Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work
Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations
Written Communication: Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience
