Responsibilities

Classify Garmin’s 'finished good' products for import/export and research, report, and implement international trade data in order to ensure global import, export and supply chain security compliance
Assist International Trade Compliance Specialist with training and providing project-specific expertise to our internal customers
Assist International Trade Compliance Manager and Specialist in preparing responses to Customs requests/notices in a timely fashion (CF28’s, CF29’s)
Ensure compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) regulatory requirements including but not limited to the import and export of products, services, transfer of technical data, and all other import/export compliance matters
Respond to inquiries from Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders regarding HTS and Schedule B classification, ECCN classifications, documentation requirements, or other import/export regulations to ensure timely clearance
Reconcile import/export discrepancies and assist in the preparation of prior disclosures, voluntary tenders, protests, or post entry adjustments (PEA)
Maintain/distribute performance reports to provide awareness and measure effectiveness of import, export, and supply chain security compliance programs
Coordinate with ITC Specialist(s) in developing/maintaining policies, procedures and instructions manual to ensure compliance with import/export laws, regulations, administrative practices, and supply chain security
Coordinate with ITC Specialist(s) in identifying new procedures and methods to expedite the import/export of shipments, deliveries to the customers, and cost savings plans for the efficient and compliant operation of the International Trade Compliance Department
Review and document export control screening (Denied Party List Screening) and clearance of any resulting red flags

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering AND a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Must possess demonstrated knowledge with import/export regulations and audit practices
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
