Supervisory Military Pay Technician

Responsibilities
Monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress, and reviewing completed work to ensure work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met
Performing audits of military pay and personnel records for retired personnel, which are technical in nature and require strict attention to detail
Gathering information and performing research on administrative and program issues and conducting studies that will result in changing or streamlining work methods or procedures
Coordinating and preparing documents which are distributed Coast Guard-wide, including letters, e-mails, newsletter articles and web site posts
Performing supervisory, administrative, and human resources management functions
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required
Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a one-year probationary period

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-08 grade level in the federal sector
Performing operational oversight and quality assurance for a team or department
Executing technical audits of military pay and/or personnel records
Conducting organizational research and management studies to evaluate program effectiveness
Managing large-scale organizational communication programs to disseminate information across an enterprise which may include letters, e-mails, newsletters or web site posts
Performing a full range of supervisory and human resource management functions which may include planning and assigning work, evaluating employee performance, and/or providing technical oversight
Submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet Federal qualification requirements if you can show that your foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the U.S
Provide all unofficial transcripts (undergraduate, graduate, etc.) by the closing date of this announcement or you will be disqualified from further consideration
Transcripts should be legible and detailed, showing course number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc.), course title, number of credit hours, and grade earned
If course content cannot be easily identified from the title of the course as listed on your transcript, you must submit an official course description from the college/university that reflects the content at the time the course was taken
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
