Responsibilities

Provides direction to and coordination of personnel during assigned shifts

Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment. Assembles wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas

Monitors biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment

Leverages instrument tracking system to update instrument details

Performs basic equipment troubleshooting prior to contacting Biomed or OEM for repair

Provides daily station assignments to create appropriate departmental workflow

Assists in quality assessments and identifies educational opportunities for staff

Required

High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of sterile processing or operating room scrub technician experience

3 years of experience in lieu of education

Preferred

Education and/or training in Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology, or other equivalent medical training
