Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation, calibration, and operation of laboratory instruments and equipment
Conduct tests, record data, and compile reports in accordance with established lab procedures
Prepare and handle chemical, biological, or physical samples and reagents
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of lab instruments and facilities
Observe and document results, maintaining accurate records for experiments and procedures
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and procedural standards
Support research and instructional staff during experiments and laboratory classes
Monitor equipment and materials inventory and submit orders as needed
Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate more complex problems appropriately
Qualification
Required
Two years of general laboratory experience
Completion of an accredited clinical laboratory or medical laboratory technology program
An associate or bachelor's degree in medical technology, nursing, clinical laboratory science, or a biological, physical, or chemical science
Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technician or Laboratory Animal Technologist by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science
Positions in Human Testing Laboratory environments must be licensed to practice as either a Laboratory Assistant or a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician in the State of Louisiana as required by Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Personnel Law R.S. 37:1311-1329 and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
