Responsibilities
Perform OTA software and firmware updates on customer field trucks at plants, dealerships, and supplier locations
Execute bench testing and field validation of connected vehicle features
Validate ECU reprogramming via OTA and OBD tools
Capture, analyze, and debug CAN logs and ECU logs using Vector CANoe
Monitor CAN bus traffic, diagnostic message priority, and node acknowledgements
Execute high-volume OTA testing (multiple ECUs with repeated iterations per vehicle)
Identify, log, and track defects with complete diagnostic logs
Participate in defect triage calls and support issue resolution (no software coding required)
Collaborate with cross-functional software, backend, and release teams
Validate OTA update integrity, failure handling, and rollback mechanisms
Maintain 100% traceability across requirements, test cases, and defects
Document test cases, results, and field findings clearly and accurately
Travel 50–75% to plants and dealership locations (DFW area with occasional out-of-state travel)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
2+ years of experience in OTA testing
2+ years of experience in Vehicle telematics
2+ years of experience in Automotive software validation
Experience validating connected vehicle features in real vehicle environments
Ability to work independently at field locations
Strong communication and documentation skills
Strong understanding of OTA architecture and OTA update lifecycle
Hands-on experience with Vector CANoe for CAN analysis and diagnostics
Solid knowledge of vehicle networks: CAN / CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet
Experience with automotive protocols: UDS, J1939
Hands-on experience performing ECU flashing and reprogramming
Knowledge of Telematics Control Units (TCU)
Ability to create and execute OTA test packages
Experience with in-vehicle remote diagnostic testing
Strong troubleshooting and log-analysis skills
