Responsibilities

Lead the underwriting and negotiation of quota share and property treaty reinsurance contracts, ensuring alignment with company risk appetite and profitability goals
Develop and manage partnerships with delegated underwriting authorities (MGAs/MGUs), overseeing performance and ensuring adherence to underwriting standards
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivating strong broker and cedent relationships across the U.S. market
Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and finance teams to analyze portfolio performance and inform pricing and risk selection
Provide leadership and mentoring within the underwriting team, supporting continued growth and operational excellence

Required

7-10+ years of progressive underwriting experience in property reinsurance, treaty (quota share preferred), or delegated underwriting environments

Deep understanding of delegated authority programs, including underwriting governance, performance review, and oversight
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proven ability to assess complex risk structures
Excellent relationship management and communication abilities, with a commercial mindset

Preferred

Experience with both reinsurance and delegated authority underwriting
Prior leadership or team management experience
Strong industry network across brokers, MGAs, and cedents
