The Project Director/Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of electrical projects within the pipeline system, ensuring compliance with industry standards and managing project phases.

Responsibilities

Provide highly skilled electrical engineering services for the planning, design and construction of project additions or maintenance to Northern Natural Gas Company's natural gas pipeline system

Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections

Develop strategic and technical plans for control, management and improvement of engineering and project management capabilities

Conduct advanced engineering studies and investigations and prepares oral and written reports

Assure that developed projects and designs comply with applicable industry standards and codes and Company Engineering Standards

Keep informed of industry issues and technical trends and recommend and implement changes to benefit Northern's business

Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field

A minimum of eight years of pipeline industry related experience in the engineering field, including three years of engineering project or operational leadership responsibilities for Mgr, Engineering

Fifteen years of successful pipeline industry engineering experience as a practicing engineer with experience performing highly technical work for Dir, Engineering

Superior level of technical knowledge, judgment and capability in pipeline engineering

Superior project management skills

Advanced leadership skills - uses personal talents and skills of others to achieve success on complex, high-level projects

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills

Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently
