This role involves gaining hands-on experience with financial technology and contributing to system implementations, reporting modernization, and process improvements during a 12-week remote internship.

Responsibilities
Loan Origination System Replacement (Microsoft Dynamics CRM → Moody’s CreditLens)
Conducting analysis and documenting current vs. future workflows
Assist in testing LOS for internal employees and the Mortgage Loan Portal for external Mortgage Bankers
Help create user guides and quick reference materials for system users
Reporting Modernization (SSRS/SSIS → Power BI)
Assist with the migration effort and validate inventory of extracts and reports during migration
Test Power BI subscriptions and automation workflows
Build a small self-service dashboard in Power BI that pulls sample data and highlights best practices
Refresh and improve system documentation (ServiceNOW & Azure DevOps)
Create an onboarding guide for new employees to Symetra Investment Management (SIM) for managers to follow
Prototype a Power Automate flow to streamline a repetitive process or to replace subscriptions in SharePoint
Troubleshooting: Shadow analysts during incident resolution and document solutions
Requirements Gathering: Attend sessions, take notes, and help translate conversations into structured requirements
Tech Stack Exposure: Gain familiarity with AWS, Azure DevOps, Azure AD, SQL Server, ServiceNOW, Mainframe, and more
Collaboration: Sit in on meetings with business partners to understand how IT supports investments
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Graduate Program
SQL or database basics (from coursework or projects)
Microsoft Excel and Office for data analysis
Interest in financial markets or investment concepts
Exposure to project management or collaboration tools
