Crystal Growth and Materials Development Research Engineer
Core4ce is seeking highly skilled applicants for a Research Scientist position to join their team at the Air Force Research Laboratory. The role focuses on the development and growth of ferroic and piezoelectric materials for RF applications, requiring collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and expertise in crystal growth and characterization.

Responsibilities
Conduct Research on Material Development: Lead and participate in research projects focused on the development and growth of ferroic and piezoelectric materials specifically tailored for RF applications
Operate and Maintain Growth Systems: Use and maintain advanced material growth systems such as Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE), Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), and Czochralski methods to produce high-quality crystals
Perform Crystal Characterization: Utilize characterization techniques like X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) to analyze crystal structures and properties
Explore Multi-Physics Behaviors: Investigate and understand the influence of growth conditions and crystal properties on electronic, mechanical, and magnetic behaviors, including ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity
Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with scientists from various disciplines to drive innovation and contribute to Department of Defense (DoD) technology development
Data Analysis and Problem Solving: Analyze experimental data using specialized software, solve complex research problems, and develop new methodologies as needed
Documentation and Reporting: Synthesize research findings, prepare detailed reports, and present results to internal teams and external stakeholders

Qualification
Required
Minimum MS in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or related fields
Experience in crystal growth and characterization
Proficiency in vacuum systems and growth chamber maintenance
Experience with magnetic characterization processes
Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
Proficiency in data acquisition and analysis software
Ability to synthesize and present results and data
Interest in scientific R&D
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to adapt to changes in research priority and balance tasks
This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
