NEOGOV is looking for an Electronics Technician to join the City of Columbia's Public Works Administration. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and programming traffic control devices and mobile communications equipment, as well as performing general electrical maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

Maintains, tests and repairs traffic control devices and mobile communications equipment and monitors other equipment
Installs, programs and tests mobile and fixed radios and accessories
Performs preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment
Programs and tests controllers and coordinates timing as directed by engineers
Inspects field work to ensure proper installation of devices
Assists in troubleshooting problems with devices as reported by electricians
Performs general electrical repair work for other divisions and departments
Maintains assigned vehicles, tools and equipment
Prepares and maintains detailed work records and reports
Receives and responds to inquiries and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility; investigates and resolves public complaints
Performs general clerical work as required, including but not limited to completing forms and records, copying and filing documents, entering and retrieving computer data, attending meetings, etc
Attends meetings, workshops, training, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills
Works outside regular work schedule to include on call, holidays, nights, and weekends, as needed; and
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Associate's degree in electrical or electronic maintenance and repair, or a closely related field
Some relevant prior experience
Valid South Carolina Class “D” Driver's License
Availability to work on call, holidays, nights, and weekends, as needed

Preferred

May have IMSA level 2 certification
