Responsibilities

Assist in the development and writing of planning studies and reports such as comprehensive plans, transportation plans, sub-area plans, downtown plans, overlay districts and recreation plans
Assist with the evaluation of rezonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, permits, variances, or other proposals
Receive working experience and training in industry-related design software such as ArcGIS
Attend client meetings, public meetings, and visit planning sites

Required

Must be actively pursuing an Urban Planning degree, or related degree such as: Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Geography, etc
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to work in different environments, both indoors and outdoors, as necessary
Proven time management skills and work ethic
Proven professional communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Strong interest in pursuing urban planning as a career

Previous experience using GIS software
