Responsibilities

Partner with business units to ensure credit decisions align with risk appetite
Provide risk analysis and recommendations for complex credit transactions
Lead the maintenance of CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) models, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Manage credit risk modeling, analyzing borrower behavior, trends, and identify emerging risks and economic conditions
Using credit risk modeling and trend analysis, collaborate with lending teams to recommend loan underwriting standards and portfolio management practices
Maintain loan concentration monitoring, review, reporting, and ongoing analysis
Monitor credit risk exposure, including performing back-testing, to identify areas for improvement and recommend adjustment strategies accordingly
Work with senior leadership to develop forecasting models that guide strategic decision-making
Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including banking laws, NCUA regulations, and risk management standards. Supports audits, internal reviews, and risk governance processes
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit analysts and risk professionals
Work closely with lending, servicing & collections, and 2nd line financial and credit risk teams to develop and maintain effective reporting on loan portfolio performance and risk management
Establish and maintain robust model risk governance including detailed model documentation, ongoing model performance monitoring, and participation in model validation activities
Provide PD & LGD analysis, stress testing, and scenario analysis to assist with Capital Planning, and strategic initiatives
Provide reporting and analysis of pledged loan collateral for institutional credit lines at the FHLB, Federal Reserve, and other FIs
Support capital planning and stress tests and scenario analyses for strategic decision-making
Participate in discussions relating to internal processes and reporting for examiners, risk committees, and audits
Provide early warning indicators through portfolio migration analysis and credit risk dashboards

Required

8-10 years of experience in banking or financial services, with a focus on credit risk management
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, or related field
Expertise in CECL model implementation, calibration, and validation
Strong knowledge of credit modeling techniques, including regression analysis, and risk forecasting
Experience managing credit portfolios, including consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending
Familiarity with banking and credit union regulations, and Federal Reserve guidelines
Brings strategic business context to decisions made across groups
Prominent knowledge of theory and organizational experience through extensive exposure to complex practices across several different disciplines within credit risk management, financial services, and lending operations

Master's degree preferred
CRC, CFA, or FRM certification preferred
Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
