Responsibilities

Develop electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and low-voltage systems for building projects
Perform load calculations, short-circuit analyses, and energy code compliance reviews
Create and review drawings, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit
Collaborate with mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines to ensure integrated MEP design
Participate in design meetings, site visits, and field inspections
Assist project managers in maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standards
Mentor junior engineers and designers by providing technical guidance and checking their work
Research new technologies, codes, and standards to integrate into projects
Communicate effectively with architects, contractors, and clients regarding design intent and project requirements
Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, and conducting field inspections

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline required
4–8 years of experience in building electrical systems design within an MEP consulting environment
EIT required; PE licensure (or ability to obtain within 1–2 years) preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP required
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, and other applicable codes/standards
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment

Preferred

PE licensure (or ability to obtain within 1–2 years) preferred
Experience with lighting calculation software (e.g., AGi32), SKM, or ETAP is a plus
