Responsibilities
Manage, monitor and perform overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for highly technical, high performance military aircraft
Perform work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations
Certify work of journey level workers in other trades working on the assigned aircraft
Certify aircraft as airworthy before being released for flight
Perform preflight, thru flight, and post-flight inspections and scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
Control and perform work assignments based upon priorities, workload availability of parts, facilities, material and personnel
Observe and inspect work performed by other workers work to insure compliance with applicable technical publications, directives and local policy
Accomplish operational tests of aircraft systems and components
Diagnose and solve malfunctions of aircraft systems and components
Clear Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others
Participate in Maintenance Test Flights and operational flights as a crewmember
Plan, develop and conduct training to workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and unit personnel
Prepare for and participate in readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and support exercises
Participate in various periods of temporary duty away from the place of assignment, as required
Comply with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations
Ensure material and equipment are properly and safely maintained and protected
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Experience removing and replacing aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and making adjustments and settings according to established specifications
Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment
Must have 18 months experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification
Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow
Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container
Resume must have complete dates (Example 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981 or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981), work schedule, and hours worked per week of employment
