Sales & Solutions Engineer

The Sales & Solutions Engineer plays a hybrid role combining technical sales support with advanced AV systems design, ensuring proposals are aligned with client objectives and technically sound from concept through implementation.

Responsibilities

Partner with sales teams to assess client needs and develop proposals tailored to our customer’s AV requirements
Conduct site visits and technical discovery meetings to evaluate infrastructure, scope, and project feasibility
Review inbound RFP requests and materials in preparation for response: Design Validity, Narrative Validity, RFI Development and review of RFI responses
Design broadcast and production systems to service customers whose needs may include ST-2110, NDI, SDI-based systems, and Dante networked audio
Design traditional AV systems of varying scales such as LED walls and video conferencing systems
Own the process of templating DCA's estimations approaches and materials for proposal use
Assist account managers in the proposal process to include design development, proposal schedule, and attaining additional needed internal resources
Ensure the delivery of high-quality proposals within tight deadlines
Create and deliver technical documentation such as system schematics, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, equipment lists, and technical narratives
Provide pre-sale technical support including RFP/RFQ responses, proposals, and presentations
Ensure solutions comply with industry standards (AVIXA, NEC, ADA, SMPTE, etc.) and reflect best practices in AV integration
Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to propose future-ready solutions

Required

Strong understanding of traditional AV technologies including DSPs, control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC), AV over IP
Strong understanding of broadcast and corporate production systems, including knowledge of ST-2110, NDI, SDI, and Dante technologies
Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, D-Tools, Visio, and/or Revit
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and AV systems technical schematics
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage/schedule work to be completed on multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in technical writing and the ability to articulate complex system designs in clear, understandable narratives

Preferred

Prior experience in a sales engineering role or a similar field
CTS or CTS-D certification
2110 certified
NDI certified
Vendor based training certifications (QSC, Evertz, Ross, EVS, Riedel, Grass Valley, etc.)
