Program and Development Coordinator
Chicago Learning Exchange (CLX) is a nonprofit organization that connects and supports Chicago’s vibrant out-of-school time youth ecosystem. They are seeking a detail-oriented contractor to support their programs and events work, focusing on coordination, outreach, and development support.
Primary and Secondary Education
Responsibilities
Coordinate planning, logistics, and administration for CLX programs, membership, and Brother Mike Awards Nominations, including scheduling, registration, agendas, communications, and logistics
Support outreach and recruitment efforts for programs and membership through effectively deploying assets across communications platforms, outreach communications, and follow-ups
Support program implementation through event preparation, presentations, and leading day-of logistics
Brainstorm and plan future youth development training calendar along with CLX Director of Programs
Update and track program and member data using survey platforms, google sheets, and Salesforce
Support the Senior Development and Communications Manager in executing fundraising campaigns, including donor management using CRM systems (Salesforce and Givebutter) and donor outreach via Mailchimp
Assist with the planning, coordination, and outreach for all fundraising events, including the Brother Mike Awards ceremony in the fall
Provide administrative and operational support to advance CLX’s individual giving goals and overall fundraising strategy
Qualification
Required
Prior event management, event planning, or program management experience
Strong, detail-oriented, project management skills and independent ability to implement and organize processes
Candidates should possess a bachelor's or associate degree in education, human services, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
Strong written communication, especially in professional writing and email communications
Comfortable using or learning tools like Google Workspace, Canva, Mailchimp, Slack, and social media platforms
Awareness of racial equity and inclusion in a professional or educational setting
Willingness to pitch in and wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, collaborative, mission-driven environment
Preferred
Some experience with nonprofits or youth development organizations (as staff or participant) preferred
Familiarity with CRM, specifically Salesforce, a plus
