Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, acquiring appropriate and good quality images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist
Ability to obtain and clearly relay an accurate and complete patient history to the supervising radiologist
Perform the minimally required safety evaluations on the equipment by following established guidelines to detect problems
Able to effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner
Maintain necessary supplies
Follow established department protocols to obtain the necessary images for a supervising radiologist
Ability to adapt and adjust to the patient's abilities and limitations, when necessary, to obtain the required images
Able to perform independently to complete a variety of exams
Attend and participate in department meetings
Participate in annual performance improvement education
Responsible for all other duties as assigned

Required

Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
ARDMS- required
Basic Life Support (BLS)- required
2+ years of experience working in a diagnostic ultrasound department- required
Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, acquiring appropriate and good quality images for interpretation by a supervising radiologist
Ability to obtain and clearly relay an accurate and complete patient history to the supervising radiologist
Perform the minimally required safety evaluations on the equipment by following established guidelines to detect problems
Able to effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, and other team members in a collaborative and professional manner
Knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology

Preferred

RVT- preferred
2+ years of experience in vascular ultrasound- preferred
1+ years of experience with Phillips US machines- preferred
1+ years of experience with Trophon- preferred
