Responsibilities

Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician

Ensure the health, comfort and safety of patients

Document a thorough medical history from patient

Contribute to the assessment of patients and administer medications or treatments as ordered

Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed

Counsel patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans

Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilize appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting

In departments where applicable, responsibilities may include patient scheduling, insurance and guarantor validation, and verification of demographic information

Coordinate provider schedules across multiple locations and manage daily scheduling adjustments

Required

Must have graduated from a school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements

Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility

Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice

Preferred

Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred
