Court Assistant
The N.C. Department of Information Technology is part of the Judicial Branch, seeking a qualified candidate for the Court Assistant position. This role involves performing secretarial and administrative tasks for the Chief District Court Judge and other judges, including preparing court calendars and serving as a liaison between the judicial office and other agencies.

Responsibilities
Preparing all Civil calendars for Guilford County (Divorce, Domestic Violence, Trials, Motions, Pre-trial, EQUD)
Handle FFS (Family Financial Settlement) tracking and scheduling
Arbitration
Issue permits to allow for cell phones and electronic devices inside the courthouse
Attend court sessions
Serve as the liaison between the judicial office and internal and external agencies
Field all requests for disability accommodations for the High Point Division
Fields media requests
Responding to email inquiries from attorneys and other court professionals
Serve as administrative professional to Chief Judge
Retrieve and distribute daily mail from the Clerk's Office
Answer telephone calls
Respond to Jurors who makes their request via letter US Mail they will notify via letter US Mail or if print out from the I-Juror computer
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school and two (2) years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal; or an associate degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of court rules and procedures
Knowledge of general office procedures
Knowledge of grammar and punctuation
Knowledge of word processing
Ability to perform assignments using commonly used rules, procedures, or methods
