Senior Research Associate / Associate Scientist (in vivo)

Cyclarity Therapeutics is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on developing therapies for atherosclerosis and other diseases of aging. They are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to participate in the design and execution of in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo studies to establish the safety and efficacy of compounds intended for clinical evaluation.

Responsibilities

Independently design and lead in vivo studies to advance drug discovery and development
Perform rodent handling (mouse and rat)
Conduct animal husbandry and routine vivarium upkeep (e.g., cage changes, husbandry, animal monitoring, etc.)
Administer test compounds- IV, IP, SQ, IM injections, and oral gavage
Perform blood collection techniques, including cardiac puncture, submandibular, saphenous vein, and retro-orbital methods
Conduct necropsies, including organ removal, examination, and fixation for histological analysis
Maintain rigorous and accurate laboratory notebooks
Prepare laboratory reagents and solutions
Plan and execute pharmacokinetic studies for new drug candidates
Plan and execute disease models, including study design, dosing, tissue collection, and data analysis

Qualification

Required

BS or MS degree in biochemistry, cell biology, or a related biomedical field with 2+ years of experience
Extensive hands-on rodent (rat and mouse) handling experience is required
Demonstrated track record (multiple years) of independent in vivo work
Experience with pharmacokinetic studies (drug administration, collection of blood, and collection of urine)
Experience running in vivo efficacy models of disease in rats and mice

Preferred

Histological slide analysis using ImageJ, QuPath, or related software
Fluorescence microscopy and imaging
Experience working with cholesterol and other natural or oxidized sterols
Knowledge in the following areas: cardiovascular, MASH/MAFLD, retinal disease (AMD), Alzheimer's disease, and other diseases of aging
