Technician - Assembly & Integration
Blue Origin is working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems for the benefit of Earth. They are seeking a skilled Technician in Chemical Corrosion Processing to ensure safe and efficient human spaceflight by performing chemical processing, quality control, and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
Perform corrosion control on aerospace components using processes such as etching, deox, anodization and alodine conversion
Safely operate and monitor tank lines used for chemical cleaning, etching, and coating of parts, ensuring system is within specification to allow for chemical processing
Use overhead cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment to manage hardware throughout the chemical processing facility
Conduct visual inspections to verify that parts meet quality standards before and after processing. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and comply with 5S, FOD, and EHS standards
Conduct chemical titration and other analytical methods to analyze and adjust chemical baths to optimal health levels ensuring high quality chemical processing
Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including proper handling, reporting, and disposal of hazardous materials
Perform routine maintenance on pumps, tanks, and other equipment, ensuring proper functionality
Work alongside engineers, managers, and fellow technicians to troubleshoot issues and optimize chemical processing operations
Qualification
Required
2 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, industrial chemical applications, or another related field
Experience performing chemical analysis and process adjustments
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
Familiarity with handling and disposing of hazardous materials in compliance with EHS standards
Hands-on experience operating and monitoring tank lines and overhead lifting equipment for chemical processing
Capability to perform routine maintenance on pumps, tanks, and related equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly
Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces
Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
Proficiency in corrosion control methods such as etching, deox, and alodine conversion
Advanced skills in performing chemical titration and other analytical methods to maintain and adjust chemical bath solutions for optimal processing conditions
Experience in predictive and preventive maintenance strategies for chemical processing equipment, including pumps, tanks, and filtration systems, to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency
Proficiency in the operation of overhead cranes and rigging equipment, ensuring safe and efficient handling of large aerospace components during chemical processing
Comprehensive understanding of EHS protocols and best practices, with a proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with chemical processing activities
Experience implementing and improving quality assurance procedures, including the ability to analyze process data, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions
Strong technical and leadership skills with a keen attention to detail, essential for leading teams in complex integration tasks
Effective communication and collaboration skills in various teams to foster a positive work environment
Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes, driving innovation
Experience working on aerospace payloads, fairings, capsules
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
Willingness to work overtime
