Senior Designer

The Senior Designer will collaborate with the sales team to create innovative space and product solutions that meet client business needs, handling projects of any complexity and ensuring design deliverables meet compliance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with the sales team to define client design requirements and project goals
Developing complete design solutions, including space plans, finish palettes, furniture specifications, and installation drawings
Ensuring all design deliverables meet code compliance and quality standards
Performing field measurements, product inventories, and research for ancillary products
Creating visual presentations and lead client design sessions to secure approvals
Managing multiple projects (workload of $5M-$8M in projects) and priorities, consistently meeting deadlines and financial goals
Providing exceptional client service by anticipating needs and offering creative, business-focused solutions
Applying deep knowledge of Herman Miller/Knoll systems and ancillary products to deliver innovative designs
Coordinating with vendors for product information, pricing, and custom requirements
Reviewing and revising design documentation to reflect client and project changes
Mentoring team members and contribute to continuous improvement in design processes
Communicating design concepts effectively to clients, A+D partners, and internal teams, positioning yourself as a trusted consultant

Required

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution
Minimum of 8 years of dealer design experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD and CET; strong working knowledge of CAP
Solid understanding of interior design theory and ability to create functional, innovative solutions
In-depth knowledge of Herman Miller and Knoll systems and seating
Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with a consultative approach to clients and partners
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables

Preferred

Experience mentoring team members and contributing to process improvements
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Outlook, and IQ
Broad knowledge of ancillary manufacturers and fabric vendors
Ability to lead live design sessions confidently and creatively
Proven track record of managing large-scale projects ($5M–$8M) and balancing design and financial goals
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate and resolve challenges proactively
