Senior Monitoring and Observability Specialist

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain monitoring tools and related technologies
Actively participate in cross-team investigations to identify gaps in observability and propose solutions to close those gaps. This will include after-hours support for high priority issues
Manage vulnerabilities throughout our tools portfolio in accordance with established policies/procedures
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices, evaluating and implementing new tools and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of our monitoring services
Work seamlessly alongside a group of outsourced partners
Maintain detailed knowledge of our operational practices
Provide regular input to the department’s strategic roadmap
Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, problem, and vulnerability resolution

Required

6+ years' experiences supporting or developing applications in an enterprise environment, with particular emphasis on monitoring/observability solutions
8+ years of experience supporting or developing applications in an enterprise environment, with particular emphasis on monitoring/observability solutions
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in a timely manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize and manage workloads in a remote environment
Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively

Preferred

Solid knowledge of application, server, and/or network design
Demonstrated experience managing IT projects in an outsourced development environment
Experience implementing and managing monitoring solutions in a cloud environment is a strong plus (particularly AWS)
ServiceNow (Incident, Request, and Configuration Management)
Process automation
Continuous Improvement methodologies
Application Performance Monitoring (APM) experience
Experience with application or infrastructure development, support, or monitoring within major cloud platform(s) (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.)
Splunk platform administration experience (e.g., design, installation, index management, etc.)
DevSecOps or FinOps toolsets
