Responsibilities

Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence
File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures
Maintain organized and up-to-date physical and electronic case files
Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and answer inquiries
Schedule appointments, meetings, and court appearances for attorneys
Assist clients with completing forms and gathering necessary documentation
Conduct legal research using online databases and resources to support case preparation
Summarize legal documents, deposition transcripts, and other relevant materials
Prepare case summaries and chronologies for attorney review
Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, hearings, and travel arrangements
Answer phones, screen calls, and take messages for attorneys
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails, prioritizing urgent correspondence

Required

5+ years experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal assistant REQUIRED
Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues
Adaptability and willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities as needed

Preferred

Associate's degree or certification in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred
