Responsibilities

Reg readiness process interpretation
Take newly enacted laws (youth, privacy, AI domains) and translate provisions into plain English
Example: California AB56 social media warning labels law
Interpretations become official guidance for downstream teams
Ongoing consultation support
Answer questions about interpretations from product/legal teams
Participate in compliance strategy discussions
Provide context on product implementation options

Qualification

Required

Licensed attorney (bar admission required)
5+ Years of experience
Mid-level experience preferred over junior
Ability to balance legal defensibility with product practicality
Legal interpretation with business context awareness
Stakeholder communication with non-lawyers
Product strategy input capability
Accountability for interpretation decisions across complex laws (20-30 provisions typical)

COPPA experience helpful but not essential
