Manager, Training & Outreach-Anti-Trafficking
Safe Horizon is one of the largest providers of services to survivors of human trafficking on the East Coast. The Training and Outreach Manager will develop and implement training programs aimed at improving community prevention and response to human trafficking, while also conducting outreach activities in high-risk areas of NYC.

Responsibilities
Learn and integrate ongoing training and education regarding a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients
Participate in ongoing training and education regarding applying a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, and using an anti-oppressive lens, in your work with clients. Coach and guide staff in their client practice that reflects these approaches
Provide training to federal and state government agencies, federal and local law enforcement agents, community-based organizations, and any other identified organizations regarding prevention and response to human trafficking
Coordinate, design and co-facilitate training curricula, outreach materials and activities/events, as well as other workshops on topics related to human trafficking, both sex and labor of all victims – men, women, minors, LGBTQ, and foreign nationals and U.S. citizens
Enter information for monthly statistical reports related to the project into databases for grant reporting and prepare training/presentation narrative write-ups as part of grant reporting
Continue to develop, supervise and manage all trainings/presentations and training protocols for BKHTTF and ATP
Oversee fulfillment of all training/presentation activities and reporting requirements for the OVC grantee assistance contracts
Provide professional development training opportunities for ATP social worker and legal staff, including collaborating with ATP team members on multidisciplinary anti-trafficking trainings, including internal Safe Horizon Need to Know trainings and external trainings for medical providers, legal providers and others
Continue to develop and spearhead the Train the Trainers program for Voices of Hope, the ATP survivor leadership group comprised of current and former ATP clients, in collaboration with the VOH Liaison, and work closely with VOH members to train them in presenting the ATP Human Trafficking 101 curriculum to civil society partners, law enforcement and government agencies
Actively participate in bi-weekly staff meetings with a small and dynamic team
Attend bi-weekly supervision meetings with the Supervising Social Worker, attend monthly Voices of Hope meetings with the Administrative Coordinator/VOH Liaison, and monthly supervision meetings with the Associate Vice President overseeing the Anti-Trafficking Program, Immigration Law Project and Domestic Violence Law Project
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
At least four years of professional experience developing and conducting diverse training, outreach and community organizing activities, preferably around trafficking, specifically trauma victims (for various audiences) with demonstrated results
Strong relationships with and/or knowledge of law enforcement agencies, community-based organizations, and victim services organizations serving and interacting with victims of trafficking
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Knowledge and Experience of training curricula development; ability to integrate engaging training techniques for diverse audiences (e.g. federal grantees administering services programs for trafficking victims, government officials or potential clients) and update existing trainings and materials
Dynamic public speaker and presenter with ability to engage diverse audiences
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to delegate tasks to staff you do not directly supervise in tandem with their direct supervisor to ensure consistency and manage workload
Must be familiar with a range of social justice work, including the underlying social issues impacting trafficking victims
Excellent cross-cultural skills
Strong workshop design and facilitation skills, including the general public, social service providers, and other partners
Strong networking and organizational skills; ability to work independently and maintain flexibility in working across multiple program sites
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Comprehensive management, supervisory and leadership skills
Ability to balance administrative responsibilities and responding to ongoing requests in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience providing supervision
Experience using a harm reduction philosophy in supervisory or direct service positions
Experience providing direct service with victims of trauma
A Bachelor's Degree in related field (extensive (4+ years) experience in workshop design and facilitation may supersede educational requirement
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel
