VP, Government Compliance and Associate General Counsel
MP Materials is rebuilding American industrial capability for a new era of autonomy, robotics, and electrification. The Vice President, Government Compliance will lead the company’s government compliance framework, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations while providing strategic guidance to executive leadership.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive government compliance program, including policies, procedures, training, and monitoring activities
Monitor regulatory developments and proactively assess their impact on business operations; recommend and implement necessary changes
Provide strategic and practical compliance advice to executive leadership and senior business stakeholders to support informed decision-making
Collaborate closely with Legal, Operations, Internal Audit, Finance, HR Operations, and external advisors to ensure an integrated compliance approach
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including government contracting, ethics, trade compliance, environmental, labor and reporting requirements
Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies, regulators, and auditors on compliance-related matters
Demonstrates leadership and team-working skills in support of a fast-paced, collaborative environment with many stakeholders
Exhibits strong risk-management judgment and ability to balance compliance requirements with business objectives
Demonstrates confidence in risk-managed decision making and judgement
Exhibits the utmost professionalism in all settings and is capable of deploying strong advocacy skills in a tactful and effective manner
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in government compliance, regulatory affairs, legal or risk management, preferably in a regulated industry
Juris Doctor (JD) Degree
Experience working with U.S. federal and state regulatory agencies
Licensed to practice law in Washington, DC or the State of Nevada, including as in-house counsel
Preferred
Ability to engage effectively with government agencies, regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders
Ability to think critically and exercise initiative and independent judgement
Ability to deal effectively with all business contacts, including government agencies, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, internal clients, and external business partners
Sound judgement and superior decision-making, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills; ability to meet prescribed deadlines
Basic proficiency in MS Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Self-motivated and self-directed and able to work without direct supervision on assigned projects and tasks
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to travel to the Company's locations (Las Vegas, Washington, DC or Dallas, Texas) or as otherwise needed
