Responsibilities

Preparing analyses of statements and reports and making recommendations regarding the analyses
Preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, and disclosures for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
Leading special projects and meetings specific to the County’s financial reporting program
Conducting research using a variety of databases, applications, and resources
Documenting processes, policies, and procedures; and other duties as assigned

Qualification

Financial ReportingGASB StandardsERP Accounting SystemsCPA LicenseIntegrated Accounting SystemsDeadline ManagementProject ManagementCommunication Skills

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
Five (5) years of experience performing professional accounting, auditing, and financial reporting work
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted

Preferred

Financial statement and reporting package preparation and presentation
A history of successfully leading special projects such as the implementation of a new ERP system and/or significant new accounting standard
Using integrated accounting systems
Meeting deadlines
Holding an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Communicating complex accounting issues to non-financial colleagues
