Financial Reporting Manager

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Technical Expertise
Financial Close/Consolidation: Manage the corporate consolidation process including providing accounting and reporting guidelines to the Company’s business units, preparing and analyzing the Company’s financial statements and ensuring compliance with US GAAP
Technical Accounting Authority: Research complex accounting matters, including new US GAAP pronouncements, revenue recognition, impairment analysis, and transaction-related matters. Responsibilities also include evaluating new developments, recommending appropriate actions, and documenting the Company’s position accordingly
General Ledger Analysis: Monitoring the chart of accounts and reviewing various analysis related to the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows to identify and investigate issues identified
Management Reporting: Manage data compilation and analysis to support internal reporting to Nightwing leadership and other ad-hoc reports
Audit Support: Interface with external auditors and outsourced tax service providers to oversee the preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and tax reporting requirements
Internal Controls & Integrity: Implement, maintain, and continuously improve robust internal controls and processes to ensure the integrity of financial data and the safeguarding of company assets
Process Improvement: Drive continuous process improvement and change initiatives across accounting policies, procedures, and systems, including involvement in system transitions or deployments
Cross-Functional Partnership: Interface with the Company’s business units and various functional areas including, Enterprise Applications, Payroll, Timekeeping, and Travel & Expense teams, ensuring system and process alignment
Inspire and Develop: Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing, results-oriented accounting team, fostering professional growth and active engagement with the business
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal customers, external partners, and senior executive leadership, acting as a financial reporting expert on special projects and ad-hoc analysis

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least 8-10 years of progressive professional experience in financial reporting and accounting leadership, OR a minimum of 15+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Active CPA license is mandatory
Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, including practical and theoretical application
US Citizenship is required

Preferred

Experience with Costpoint and operating within a government contracting environment are significant advantages
Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, written, and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to interact and provide meaningful, practical guidance to all levels of executive and divisional management
