Responsibilities
Assist in the development and execution of the annual audit plan
Conduct risk-based internal audits across the health system
Help create standardized audit procedures, templates, and risk assessment tools
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and management responses
Perform follow-up audits to ensure remediation of identified issues
Utilize data analytics tools to enhance audits and provide continuous monitoring
Oversee sales tax recovery for taxable items used directly on Medicare and Medicaid patients
Provide guidance and support to junior audit staff in audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting
Qualification
Required
Minimum four (4) years of related experience
Strong understanding of internal auditing standards and practices
Proficient in auditing tools, accounting software, and data analytics platforms
Working knowledge of healthcare billing and reimbursement processes, particularly related to Medicare and Medicaid is beneficial
Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting findings and writing reports
Ability to lead and execute complex internal audits across operational, financial, and compliance areas
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines
Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
OR
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
