John Rocchio Corporation is seeking a skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. This role focuses on job cost accounting while providing support to payroll and accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate cost tracking and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate job cost records and prepare detailed job cost reports for Project Managers and the Controller

Create, update and maintain jobs as awarded / completed

Generate cost-to-complete reports and track accrued costs for progress payments

Assist in preparing labor rate breakdowns and updating equipment cost for estimating and billing

Monitor and track equipment and office rentals

Support preparation and processing of subcontract/vendor back charges and change orders

Input quantities and production to job cost CMiC accounting software

Prepare Budget vs Actual reports as requested by the controller and operations teams

Track and monitor high risk items on the jobs (schedules, escalations, etc)

Assist with weekly payroll processing, including reviewing timesheets and ensuring coding accuracy

Support union reporting and certified payroll submissions as needed

Provide backup assistance for accounts payable, including invoice verification and data entry

Help reconcile vendor statements and assist with monthly and year-end processes such as w-2 and 1099 preparation

Other administrative functions as needed to support finance operations
