Start in 2026 SpringRoche is a leading biotechnology company, and they are seeking a summer intern for their Synthetic Molecule Pharmaceutics department. The intern will contribute to laboratory instrumentation design, assist in tablet formulation analysis, execute physicochemical experiments, and generate datasets to support computational model validation.

Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and optimization of novel laboratory instrumentation and process technologies, utilizing sensors and data acquisition systems
Assist in the manufacturing and analysis of tablet formulations to evaluate material properties and processing behaviors
Execute physicochemical characterization experiments on pharmaceutical materials, focusing on powder mechanics and solid dosage form performance
Generate high-quality experimental datasets to support the validation of computational models and predictive algorithms
Assist with compiling data, analyze experimental results, maintain accurate records, and present technical findings to cross-functional scientific teams
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
Minimum 3.5 GPA
Required Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Biomedical Engineering
Coursework: Completion of foundational undergraduate coursework in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, or materials science
Technical Interest: Strong interest in sensors, data acquisition, and design optimization of experimental equipment
Lab Competence: Ability to safely execute hands-on experiments (e.g., mechanical testing, materials handling) and maintain accurate experimental records
Self-Starter: Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
Preferred
Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis and visualization
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) or 3D printing
Prior experience with powder characterization techniques (e.g., tensile testing, density measurements)
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
