Integration Engineering Technician II - Waterjet Operator

Responsibilities
Operating Waterjet to perform cutting, shaping, and profiling of various materials according to blueprints, written procedures, and engineering models, work orders, drawings, specifications
Review work orders, blueprints, or CAD files to decide the appropriate cutting specifications and techniques
Set up and load materials on the machine, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping
Monitor and adjust cutting parameters, including speed, pressure, and delivery system, performing necessary maintenance and repairs
Conduct regular inspections of cutting heads, nozzles, and abrasive delivery systems, maintain and repair if/when needed
Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine performance, tooling, or cutting process, raising complex problems to the supervisor
Adhere to production schedules and meet assigned deadlines for the completion of waterjet cutting tasks
Document work activities, including material usage, machine setup details, and production quantities, accurately and timely
Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
Perform second party verifications and parts inspections
Troubleshoot, diagnose, fix and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance of the Waterjet
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required
Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
Work split-shift, extended hours overtime, and/or weekend shift when necessary
Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission
Qualification
Required
High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Experience with operating Waterjet
Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field. Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures
Work with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds
Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc
Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
Perform repetitive work
Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs
Preferred
Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities

Experience in programming Waterjet
Experience in Waterjet maintenance
Experience with Flow Mach 500
Experience in AutoCAD
Experience with machining and operating CNC
Experience in handling large aerospace components
Experience in new product introduction
Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
