State of Missouri is seeking a Summer Roadside Intern to assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring statewide roadside management programs. The intern will prepare recommendations, develop training programs, and administer vegetation management programs under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

Prepares recommendations to the Design Division on roadside plans and develops specifications for seeding, fertilizing, mulching, erosion, and maintenance by contract bid or departmental personnel

Develops training programs for district personnel in roadside management procedures

Administers statewide vegetation management programs, including mowing, brush control, noxious weeds, and herbicide programs

Analyzes soil test reports and investigates soil conditions to determine proper cover for highway right of way

Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned

Qualification

Associate's degree enrollment30 credit hours completedGPA of 2.0Higher

Required

Enrolled in a relevant 2-year/associate's degree program full-time (12+ credit hours)

30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply

Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent
