They are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the technical direction of power system design and integration for complex distributed energy projects, focusing on delivering scalable energy systems for data centers.

Responsibilities
Serve as the technical lead for power system design across new data center and retrofit projects
Develop and review electrical layouts, system schematics, and integration plans for PV, BESS, UPS, generators, and switchgear
Act as the lead engineer overseeing consultants performing load analysis, short circuit studies, and reliability assessments
Direct the preparation of power system specifications, one-line diagrams, and detailed construction packages
Optimize electrical system design for resiliency, cost, efficiency, and scalability
Lead interconnection strategy development, including application submission, utility coordination, and technical negotiations
Collaborate with development, execution, and commercial teams to ensure system designs meet site-specific requirements and commercial goals
Interface directly with equipment vendors (e.g., switchgear, generator, and inverter manufacturers) to ensure cost-effective and scalable solutions across voltage classes (208V–34.5kV)
Guide the integration of solar, battery storage, and gas generation assets within microgrids to meet emissions, resiliency, and performance objectives
Conduct risk assessments and develop lifecycle maintenance strategies for critical power infrastructure
Drive innovation in modular and repeatable design strategies for application across multiple customer sites
Support controls strategy development to ensure coordination across DERs and optimize system operation (grid-tied and island modes)
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience designing and delivering distributed generation, power, or renewable energy systems—ideally including data centers or other mission-critical infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of distributed energy technologies, including solar, BESS, and natural gas engines/turbines
In-depth understanding of power distribution systems (208V to 34.5kV), rotating equipment, and interconnection best practices
Deep familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, IEC, etc.)
Experience working with utility studies (System Impact, Facility, Detailed) and coordinating applications
Comfortable working with cross-functional internal teams and external consultants to deliver technically robust, cost-effective solutions
Proficiency in AutoCAD (for concept one-lines and layouts)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
PE license required
