Program Coordinator, Injury Prevention
Children's Health is dedicated to making life better for children through innovative health solutions. The Program Coordinator for Injury Prevention will be responsible for developing and overseeing safety initiatives and programs aimed at reducing injury risks for children in the community.

Responsibilities
Designs, implements and evaluates evidence-based injury prevention programs for the agency, community and other professionals to ensure program effectiveness
Develops and sustains partnerships with community and at Children's to assess needs and to develop and implement broad-based solutions/programs
Develop and present injury prevention programs designed to increase awareness and knowledge about safety to community groups and Children's staff to affect change related to injury risk to children. Analyze injury registry data and assist community needs to aid in development of safety initiatives
Provide educational consultation for staff and the community on community/organizational development, outreach, lead agency marketing, training, program evaluation and behavioral change
Pursue external funding opportunities to underwrite program operational expenses
Develop and promote and/or market education materials and information that is accurate, culturally appropriate, and educationally sound
Advocate at the local, state, and national level to improve child safety legislation in an attempt to raise the quality of life for children
Mentor volunteers and interns pursuing a Master's degree and help manage execution of program
Serve as administrator for internal and external programs (i.e., Safe Kids Dallas, Safety Advocates, Know Before You Go, etc)
Coordinate and participate in child passenger safety fitting stations on and off campus weekly
Consult with Research Scientists to evaluate programs and collaborate on scientific publications
Perform patient consults and education in multiple risk areas as needed (i.e., Trauma admissions, SPICA casted patients, children with special medical conditions and other services as requested)
Qualification
Required
At least 3 years related experience
Knowledge of course design, teaching methods and techniques for presenting information
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Texas Driver's License
Preferred
Bilingual
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience
Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification
Child Passenger Safety Special Needs Certification
