Responsibilities

Design and ship backend-first features, including APIs, data models, background jobs, and internal services
Build and evolve systems that support AI-driven risk workflows, large datasets, and time-sensitive decisions
Architect secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure for fintech and payments use cases
Own features end-to-end — from schema design and business logic through production rollout and iteration
Partner closely with customers and internal teams to deeply understand real-world constraints and edge cases
Help shape Coris’ engineering standards, patterns, and culture at an early stage

Required

3–7+ years of experience building backend systems in production environments
Highly proficient in Python and frameworks like Django (or similar)
Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), including schema design, performance, and migrations
Comfortable designing APIs and data contracts that scale and evolve over time
Think carefully about performance, correctness, and security, especially in financial or risk-sensitive systems
AI-native in your workflow — you use tools like Cursor, Claude, or GPT copilots to move faster and reason better
Communicate clearly and operate with high ownership, low ego, and a bias toward action
