This role focuses on restoring integrity to inventory valuation, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring audit-ready financial statements while supporting system and process transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities
Review and remediate inventory valuation methodologies and costing practices
Support and oversee physical inventory and cycle counts
Partner with external inventory service providers and internal ERP/SAP resources to ensure all inventory is accurately labeled, categorized, and traceable
Review inventory reserves, obsolescence calculations, and costing accuracy
Reconcile all balance sheet and profit & loss accounts with emphasis on inventory-related accounts
Identify and resolve reconciling items to ensure audit-ready financial statements
Review journal entries, account analyses, and close procedures for GAAP compliance
Support the financial statement audit process and ongoing audit preparedness
Assess purchasing, procurement, receiving, approvals, segregation of duties, and documentation standards
Identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and risks and design practical remediation strategies
Assist with the design and implementation of improved controls over inventory purchases, receiving, and recording
Design and implement a standardized inventory identification and labeling framework (QR codes, barcodes, or similar)
Support selection and onboarding of new inventory or import-to-invoice software solutions
Coordinate integration with ERP/SAP and internal IT teams
Support testing, validation, and stabilization of new inventory processes
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or financial operations
Strong GAAP technical accounting background
Demonstrated success leading inventory remediation or balance sheet cleanup initiatives
SAP experience required
Experience supporting audits and cross-functional transformation initiatives
