The Surgery Screener will conduct pre-admit screenings, communicate with patients regarding surgical details, and assist with updating medical records to ensure patients are prepared for surgery.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-admit screenings both in person and over the phone, going through surgery questionnaire, and following up on medical clearances and labs to assess their suitability to have surgery at Reno Orthopedic Surgery Center

Communicate with patients by answering a multi-line phone system and via electronic mail as required to resolve questions and issues

Provide accurate, detailed information to patients regarding surgical time, test preparations, scheduled arrival time, and any other directional information needed

Update medications and allergies in the patient's electronic medical charts

Assist surgery schedulers as needed with reviewing physician surgery schedules, calling patients and offering tentative surgery dates
