Responsibilities

Assisting with litigated general and professional liability coverage and bad faith matters in both state and federal courts

Analyzing coverage issues and drafting coverage position correspondence

Preparing pleadings, discovery, and motions

Communicating with clients and preparing reports to clients

Participating in status conferences, court hearings, depositions, and mediations, as necessary

Participating in case strategy and execution in highly-valued, complex, and contentious litigation

Required

Active bar license in Illinois

Insurance coverage experience for matters both in and out of litigation

Litigation experience in either state or federal courts

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Exceptional writing, organizational, and advocacy skills

Approximately 2-3 years of insurance coverage experience in both professional and general liability matters with basic state and federal litigation experience being a plus

Enjoy working collaboratively in a team setting with partners, associates, paralegals, and law clerks

Experience handling general and professional liability coverage matters

Basic understanding of state and federal litigation or be willing to learn

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Skilled in legal research, analysis, and writing

Superb administrative and organizational skills

Polished presentation skills

Diligent, driven, and eager to learn

Ability to work independently and take ownership of their work
