Prospect Research Associate

Responsibilities
Conduct research on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects using established tools and resources
Prepare profiles, briefings, and reports for fundraisers and university leadership as directed
Assist with maintaining and updating prospect records in the fundraising CRM
Support the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Board of Trustees Trusteeship Committee meetings by preparing meeting collateral and taking minutes
Assist the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and the University President in their work with principal gift prospects by entering actions into the fundraising CRM, identifying new prospects, and supporting related research and administrative tasks
Serve as the point person for collecting and tracking data on corporate partners, collaborating with Career Readiness and academic deans to support institutional relationship management and reporting
Support Major Gift Officers (MGOs) by conducting prospect research, assisting with moves management tracking, and helping maintain and update donor portfolios in the fundraising CRM
Follow established procedures for prospect management and data privacy
Ensure accuracy and integrity of prospect data in the fundraising CRM through regular review and updates
Respond to ad hoc research requests from advancement staff in a timely and professional manner
Stay current with best practices in prospect research and data management through ongoing professional development
Collaborate with team members to support donor-related initiatives and events
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with at least three years of prospect research or library science experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Strong information literary skills, including knowledge of industry-standard search techniques and software, and ability to navigate resources on the web (such social media and business websites)
Understanding of prospect development and management concepts
Experience with fundraising CRMs (preferably The Raiser's EdgeNXT, ResearchPoint, Target Analytics)
Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Ability to work independently and proactively on concurrent projects and collaboratively with others
Strong planning, communication, time management and organizational skills
General understanding of fundraising terminology and practices
General understanding of higher education organizational structure and administrative operations
Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of University personnel, students, and/or outside individuals/organizations
Adherence to the American Prospect Research Association (APRA's) Code of Ethics and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which includes sensitivity to confidential information
Preferred
Previous experience in advancement/development preferred
Previous UNE experience desirable
