Entry-Level Structural Engineer
Haag, a Salas O'Brien Company is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary design firm in Evansville, IN. The role involves engaging in all phases of a project from inception to completion, providing design and consulting services while building relationships with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities
Listen to our clients’ needs and independently provide value to our clients by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost and life cycle cost
Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email and phone as necessary
Work alone on projects, or work on project team with other technical staff to design and detail the new structural systems that are needed, assuring that the work is accurate and coordinated, and that the quality assurance measures have been followed
Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements
Maintain appropriate contact with our existing clients so that they think of our firm when services our needed
Aid in the pursuit of projects for new and existing clients by assisting the lead engineer in conducting presentations and writing proposals
Provide the technical assessment of potential project opportunities to aide in project go/no-go decisions
Assist the work of other engineers and designers as a Project Engineer to generate project deliverables
Perform structural analysis and design calculation following office structural design standards
Stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities
Specific design related services include: Building foundation design including shallow and deep foundations, Concrete pit and trench design, Soil retention design including those for temporary construction, Slab on grade and elevated slab design, Equipment lifting design and layout, Fall protection design for general industry and construction, Building design using steel, concrete, masonry and wood, Connection design, Equipment support design and layout, Mechanical process piping supports, Develop specification documents
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a BS in Civil Engineering majoring in Structures
Between 0 and 4 years of experience in the design of industrial facilities and structures and commercial buildings
Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and client focus/customer service
Be resourceful and flexible, effective at handling multiple tasks
Good computer skills
Strong presentation, written and verbal skills
Ability to effectively delegate or be delegated to while working in a collaborative format with multiple team members

A working knowledge of Structural Analysis and Design Software (specifically RAM suite preferred)
BIM strategies using Revit and Navisworks
