Responsibilities
Define the overall strategy for SMS wholesale / trading within VOX, in alignment with the company’s MNO-monetization and operations strategy
Decide on target markets, partner segments, and prioritized geographies (e.g., global Tier-1 aggregators, regional players, selected enterprise opportunities)
Set yearly and quarterly targets for volume, gross margin and number of active accounts
Personally drive high-value strategic partnerships (top global aggregators, large regional players, priority enterprise clusters)
Oversee price-setting and adjustments together with Routing and Procurement, ensuring coherent strategy across all traders and accounts
Own forecasting for wholesale volumes and gross margin at division level and provide regular performance reports for VP Operations and management (targets vs. actuals, pipeline, risk & opportunity)
Track market trends: pricing movements, competitor behavior, brand and aggregator strategies
Represent the SMS wholesale view in internal discussions on new products, MNO deals, and routing strategy
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and performance management for the team
Define and refine commission and incentive schemes (fixed, quarterly bonus, margin-based commissions) in cooperation with VP Operations & HR
Ensure the team has clear KPIs, dashboards, and reporting routines
Support Account Managers in complex negotiations and escalations (rates, commitments, exclusives, traffic shifts)
Oversee quality of relationship management, ensuring regular, professional communication with partners (pricing changes, route moves, incidents, disputes)
Ensure commercial governance: approvals for larger deals, special pricing, or non-standard contract clauses
Consolidate Account Manager forecasts and validate assumptions
Contribute to budgeting and headcount planning for the SMS Aggregation team and related operational support (Routing, Support)
Define the way of working for the wholesale team: opportunity lifecycle, approvals, margin checks, escalation paths
Ensure proper usage of CRM and internal tools (opportunities, contacts, contracts, risk flags, pricing decisions)
Continuously improve trading processes, playbooks and guidelines based on market feedback and internal performance
Qualification
Required
7+ years in A2P SMS / wholesale / CPaaS in commercial roles (e.g., Head of SMS Trading, Senior Account Manager, Carrier Manager, Regional Sales Director)
Proven experience building or scaling an SMS trading / wholesale unit
Demonstrable leadership experience: managing Account Managers or commercial teams or acting as de-facto team lead
Strong existing network with global and regional aggregators, CPaaS platforms, and/or major messaging buyers
Deep understanding of A2P SMS trading dynamics
Excellent leadership: coaching, feedback, prioritization, and conflict handling
Strong negotiation and influencing skills at senior level (C-level, VP/Director level at partners)
Ability to work in a hands-on, build-from-scratch environment, comfortable with ambiguity and iteration
Highly structured, with strong analytical skills and comfort with numbers (targets, margin, forecasting)
Fluent English (spoken and written) with any additional languages as a plus (French, Arabic)
