Secretary - Bilingual Preferred
Turning Point of Central California, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives across California through various services. The Secretary will perform general secretarial, office, and bookkeeping duties while maintaining effective communication and supporting the Program Director and staff.

Responsibilities
General secretarial and front desk receptionist duties including: Answering the telephone, greeting clients/guests, notifying staff when clients arrive for scheduled appointments, typing correspondence, maintaining files and case entries, preparing forms to be sent to the administrative office, and performing general office duties
Responsible for updating, editing, and adding accurate information to electronic medical records as needed
Attends bi-weekly Program staff meetings
Provide the Program Director with timely reports on any unusual occurrences that might impact the overall program operation or the health and safety of clients or employees
Complete the minimum 16 hours training annually per Turning Point training requirements and policy for clerical staff
Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies
Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others
Will drive on Agency business
Physical presence at the program is required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Previous successful secretarial or office work experience
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculation
Work effectively with diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and professional groups of people
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms
Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test
Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish
Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes
Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients
Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis
Minimal adequate competency in the Spanish language as evidenced by successful passage of the TPOCC Spanish Competency Test
Other translation tasks as required
Preferred
Two (2) years of junior college with Business Administration/Secretarial major or completion of secretarial course in accredited business school preferred
Communicate effectively in written and spoken English and Spanish preferred
